College is Busy.

So I have been busy as you can tell by the lack of posting... Sorry. So back to where I last left off:  my parents came!! It was so good to see them! Then over the saturday that they were here, I took some friends up to stay with us in Park City. We went shopping, made cookies and ate delicious food cooked by my Dad. It was a great weekend.

Then the next week we got new bed frames! Woo Hoo!! I know we shouldn't be this excited for a new bed frame but it was the most excitement I have ever seen on our floor! They are way nicer now because 1) we can fit way more stuff under our beds and 2) the 30 year old jagged metal doesn't cut me any more! The unfortunate thing about getting the new bed frames was that we had to move everything out from under our beds. And that's a lot of stuff

The new and improved bed!!

Then it was HALLOWEEN!!! They gave us bonus visiting hours for trick-or-treating. This girl named Carolyn who lives down the hall decided to dress up as a sexy bearded bachelor and Nikki was her cat.

She was playing Kenny G and that is her fireplace app a'burning!!
Trick-or-treating in the boy's hall! So fun!

Then we got to hear from the Prophet at Devotional last week! That was supper cool

This is my picture of President Monson. We were is the dead center in row K. very close. He is the big white flash.

Here is a good picture from the devotional. It was amazing.

Then Nikki got coerced into going on a date with our crazy RA's cousin so we decided to stalk them to the MOA

Here is a cool picture of a book sculpture.

And this is Ashley, Sadie and Carolyn planking in the weird Nazi strobe light movie room.

Then we had to deal with the Modesty Nazis!! The building advisor goes of town for one weekend and they plaster posters all over all the halls and the bathrooms and the lobby!

Everyone was really peeved by these and decided to rebel against the signs. They were ripped down from everywhere by the end of the week. Someone wrote on the skirt posters "so an inch determines my salvation". And Carolyn taped these posters all over our hall:

Then you know that awkward moment when you walk out into the hall and your crazy RA is skipping down the hall in her wedding dress????? If you don't you are lucky.

Yes this was a creepy sneak attack picture.

Then we had a Bridal Shower for two girls on our floor getting married. We used this funny panty poem as our present to them:

Bridal Shower Panty Poem

The Stover girls have a secret to share

About our little brides
They are obsessed with underwear
And that we cannot hide

So for our little panty queens
We gathered up some twine
And working as a friendly team
We made a panty line.
Sarah & Merissa, these undies are to last you
All throughout your life
And Edgar & Adam will be pleased to say
They have a sexy wife!
So listen up to hear about
Your lifelong panty plan
These underwear, we have no doubt
Will last your whole life span
The first are for your wedding day
Of course they are pure white
We know Edgar & Adam will shout, "Hooray!"
When he sees you on that night
The next are for your honeymoon
They're sexy and all lace
We hope you'll leave your hotel room
'Cause California’s a gorgeous place!
On Valentine's you'll wear this pair
Before you hit the bed
Cuz Cupid's arrow in the air
Shoots tushies that are red
After a year has passed you'll face
Anniversary number one
With these you'll surely have a blast
'Cuz leopard's so much fun!
Then when the time is right for you
And don't be saying, "Maybe"
You'll wear your little pink or blue
In honor of your baby

And when your years of wedding bliss
Become the big 2-5
Don't worry - you'll just slip this on
To keep the sparks alive
When finally you're old and gray
With these you can't go wrong
'Cuz sorry Sarah & Merissa but at that age
You just can't wear a thong!!!

Our present doubled as decorations!

Sarah's line

Merissa's Line

We love bridal showers!

How do we relax after such a busy couple of weeks??

My Life Currently

So here at BYU time passes in strange ways. We are so busy that the weeks pass very quickly, but the days are twice as long. If you don't see someone for a day it feels like a week. This just adds to the fact that we seem to move from test to test, essay to essay.

Which brings me to my next point:  midterms sound like a week of tests, but in fact I have been taking midterms for going on the THIRD WEEK. It's exhausting and stressful. But on a non-school note, its fun up here! This is what we have been up to lately in Stover 3200:

Oktoberfest!!!

Joey and Katie Jane playing with the cutouts.

Joey and Carliegh with none other than Martin Luther and Angela Merkel the Chancellor of Germany.

Cutouts are fun!!

Joey creeping on Angela Merkel.

Joey and Ashley switched jackets.

Spark!!

We love Nikki!!

Our view at our table. Carliegh and Moriah enjoyed it quite a lot.
Back at Stover.

We decorated out urinals. Happy Fall!!

Yeah, I Know it's Late.

So yesterday was a very crazy day. I had to write two essays that were due today. It was very high-stress but I got them all turned in and everything was great.

Today in my development class we were talking about self and identity development and all this stuff and my teacher asked us who we are and everyone said "children of God". Is it bad that I said my name first? Then he decided to compare genders and asked all the girls who we are and there was a mass recitation of the personal progress theme. It took me a while to catch on. I guess that shows just how out of practice I am with Young Woman's!

This picture is from pinterest. A web site that my roommate got me addicted to. One more awesome distraction!!!

Also, today I started watching the show New Girl with some girls on my floor. It is my new favorite show second only to Modern Family. It is so funny.

Watch it. Also I'm really excited for my parents to come in less than six days!!! Woo Hoo!!!! And on that note I have to go to bed so I can study for my four tests next week!!

Update.

So it has been very busy up here at college as you can tell by my lack of blogging. So here's the update:

-Monday after conference I receive a strange knock on my door in the middle of the day. It was Sister Willis and her daughter coming to visit me on their way home from conference. She gave me about 15 mom hugs and this.

A huge, fun present! That was filled with this.

Diet Coke and Paradise Bakery. De-li-cious.

Then for some reason on Wednesday it decided to drop 30+ degrees and SNOW!!! Even down on campus, though it didn't stick. Here is the wide shot.

The snow stuck all the way down to the Y!

It was fun to have the cold weather for a while but I'm glad its over. I'm not ready for winter yet because 1) it's very cold and wet here in the winter and 2) we haven't even enjoyed our fall yet! So along with the crazy snow, it rained pretty much non-stop for about 3 days. And our very old dorm just couldn't handle it.

My friend Ashley standing by the water catching buckets. Disgusting. It's yellow. Then on friday, we went to this place called Lowe's Extreme Air Sports aka the tumbling gym. And this was Becca's favorite activity.

Saturday was the game and it was still very freezing so we got all bundled up to go watch BYU dominate. Then on our way home from Costa Vida, we noticed that only half the Y was lit. Too funny.

If you can't tell that's the mis-shapen yellow object in the background. So all in all, a very cold weird random crazy busy week!

Priesthood Girls Night.

So as I have mentioned before, my floor is very fun. Today we decided to go out to a fancy dinner during priesthood session. We went to Tempinyaki Grill which is one of those Japanese places were they cook right in front of you. It was very cool. And tasty. It was very nice to get off campus, even though we had a bit of a hard time getting there! It took us two U-turns and a three point turn on main road to find our way. I really miss driving. But dinner was a blast! My floor is just great!
