Hawaii

I posted a while back about how I burned my finger on the curling iron and I thought it looked like Hawaii. Here is the picture again for anyone who is super lost.

So my mom read that and called me today and jokingly said it was a sign that we are supposed to go to Hawaii. Well I won't argue with that! Get planning Mom!

Beautiful Na'pali Coastline

I have gotten so many compliments about my feet this week that when I saw this picture it made me giggle. And I had to put it up because the black sand is so cool!

What Am I Doing With My Life?

I have been stalling for about all day today to not study for my test and now I am down to the wire and I just can't make myself focus. I think the problem is that it is a nursing class which I am staring to doubt as my major and its like as a sign something is keeping me from working on it. It probably sounds like a lame excuse but that's where I am currently.

I had an epiphany today in interior design class--well maybe its not an epiphany because it has been slowly building in my mind for a while--that the perfect job for me would be to renovate old buildings and mansions because it combines two things I love:  history and design. But I'm still faced with the issue that BYU doesn't have an interior design program and that I always saw myself as doing something academic. The problem is I can't seem to get it out of my mind so I feel as though all my down time is spent mulling over my options and fantasizing about designing. I feel so restless in my design class an it eats me up being in there. So there is my predicament.

Time for a Break.

It has been a pretty busy few weeks so far with all of my classes picking up at the same time. I have had four tests and two essays in the last two weeks and now we head almost straight into midterms. Sometimes you just have to take a break and notice all the silly things that happen up here.
I burnt myself with a curling iron and I think it bears a strange resemblance to the islands of Hawaii!!

I took this creeper picture of one of the workers in the Cannon Center while I was in the salad line. I know it fuzzy but yes you are right. That is a dark mark tattoo on her arm.

My floor also decided to become social almost over night so now if ever I leave my room to go to the bathroom or get a drink of water, I get distracted by the fun and end up painting my nails in the hall or blasting sappy music out the windows at couples for a hours. I always try to get back to my studying but they call it FOMO - fear of missing out - that keeps me from "retreating back to the lab" as Nikki says. So instead I study in the wee hours of the morning and consequently suffer from FONS - fear of never sleeping. Its quite a balancing act, this college thing.

First day of Fall.

Happy Fall everyone!! I have always really enjoyed fall because the leaves turn colors and the weather is nice and crisp. I remember the first time my parents took me to Flagstaff to see the fall leaves (since fall doesn't hit in the valley for the three total trees that drop their leaves till January) and the mountains looked like they were red and orange because there was leaves everywhere. It was so pretty against the white bark of the aspens. My favorite memory of fall, though, is definitely from last October when my family took a trip to Chicago. One of the highlights for me was one afternoon when we took our lunch to a park and ate in the shade of the beautiful orange and red trees. We started to collect leaves just to show our favorites to each other but we collected so many that we loved so much that we stuck them all in a book and took them home with us, along with about 5 pounds of acorns. I arranged them in some decorative jars we have at home and they were beautiful reminders of our trip and of what is was supposed to look like out side (haha). I wish we could have kept them up forever. I love fall!

I want to live here so I can stare at this everyday.

Deutschland

Today in design we learned about German homes and I really badly wanted to go back. Now some of these pictures are in Austria and Switzerland but we will just let that one slide.
